Zips Men’s soccer to host SIU Edwardsville in MAC play

The Zips MSOC host SIU Edwardsville in a MAC showdown at Cub Cadet field on Friday October 13. Don’t expect any superstitious play on Friday the 13th because the Zips have won 6 of their last 7 matches. They are coming off of an impressive victory against Cleveland State in which Skye Harter snagged a goal on the mistake of a defender in the very first minute of the game. Barth-Luther Mouafo also netted one past the Vikings in the 83’ from a corner kick.
The team is looking to improve their 0-1 record in the MAC with a victory. On the outlook, three of the next six matches are MAC opponents, so a victory against Edwardsville is what the team needs to continue through conference play with confidence.
Edwardsville is also in good form, however, having won their last three games. This will be their first Conference game this season, so they are surely eyeing the W. Tor Saunders Made his first Collegiate start at Goal Keeper on Tuesday night against CSU. This game could be another opportunity for him to get some work in against a hungry team.
